Chapter 22

Two hours later, Paul Edgar was landing at LAX. When he got off the plane, three federal agents were waiting for him at the gate, two males and one female. The two men were dressed casually, dark suits, white shirts, blue ties and tinted shades. The female federal agent was in a dark blue skirt that came past her knees. She wore a matching jacket over a white blouse. After Paul introduced himself to them, they all followed his lead and walked through the airport. Paul went to the luggage carrousel and stood there, staring at the sea of people. He slipped on his shades, put his hands on his waist, and in the next thirty seconds, his phone rang. He removed it from the clamp on his belt and answered it. “Edgar speaking.”

“There’s a black Hummer limousine parked in front of the airport. Go to it. There’s two Samsonite suitcases in the back, just for you. You can thank me later.” Amil said and then the line went dead.

Paul Edgar didn’t waste any time at all. Soon as the call disconnected, he began walking toward the exit doors. The other three agents were right with him. Once they got outside, he looked to his left, and just as promised, there was a long black Hummer double parked. It was clean, shiny black with tinted windows. Paul pulled his gun and carefully walked up to the driver side window and looked in.

The other agents looked in also. They were being careful at the same time. Paul Edgar had called in to the DEA office in LA to assist him, since it was their jurisdiction.

Paul walked to the rear door and looked at the handle before opening it. He was still somewhat undecided for several reasons. One was Amil Walker. Two was Amil Walker, and three was Amil Walker. When he finally shook the negative thoughts away, he opened the driver side rear door. A strong odor hit his nose immediately, but there on the floor was two huge suitcases. Paul climbed inside and one of the other agents opened the opposite side rear door.

Paul unzipped the first suitcase, flipped the top up, and to his surprise, there were neat stacks of kilos of heroin. Paul removed one of them and looked at the top front face of it. There was a design that appeared to be the image of something like a blueprint. But instead, it was in the color pink and formed in the shape of a circle with a white background. He tore the paper off, put it to this nose to assure that it was official, and sighed.

When he looked up at the other agent across from him, a smile spread across his face. “Call the media. We going live with this one.”
